Godavari Institute of Engineering & Technology is an active learning centre for NPTEL courses. There were approximately 1000 registrations from Students and Faculty in every semester for NPTEL courses. On teachers day the Vice Chairman of Godavari Institute of Engineering & technology, announced Cash Awards for all the Faculty, who have completed the SWAYAM/NPTEL courses. He has announced Rs. 5000 for Gold Certification and Rs. 2000 for Elite certification. If there were three or more certifications to a faculty, he has announced a cash prize of Rs. 5000/-. All the successful candidates, he has announced Rs. 1000/- as a reward. This was celebrated on 5th Sept 2017. The Photos of the said programme are enclosed. The Chairman of the Institution, Sri K V V Satyanarayana Raju (Chaotanya Raju garu) distributed the certificates. Smt. Laxmi Raju appreciated the efforts of the SPOC of the Active Learning centre Dr. M Varaprasada Rao and his initiation in taking part in NPTEL examinations. He has received total 11 Certifications from NPTEL (7+4). Also she has stated that there were 704 registrations for Sept 2017 courses and 462 registrations for Oct 2017 courses. Vice Chairman Sri Sasi Kiran Varma declared that the encouragement to faculty will be continued and one certification per year is a must for every faculty member to decide up-on future increments. He has stated that the NPTEL courses are very good and are current with concurrent requirements of the students and faculty. In the institute an open air theatre exists "Amphi Theatre", where the courses will be screened on Every Saturday for the benefit of the students. The courses that are related to the present students curriculum and the future prospects are explained to each class room with PPT Presentations. The hard copies of the course information have been put up in the Student's Notice boards. The Management is very much interested to give the benefit of NPTEL courses to large number of students and faculty. The students, 4 members, who got selected for Stanford University's University Innovation Fellows programme, are the Institute's NPTEL Ambassadors' for promoting the NPTEL programmes and giving information to the students in the campus.

The NPTEL Local Chapter of ATRI organized awareness cum felicitation programme for the faculty members on 22.12.2017. Mr. J. Srikanth, Director addressed the gathering and explained the need and importance of e-resources and e-learning. He elaborated about the importance of NPTEL certification for the academic update of the faculty members and how the students can be benefited through NPTEL video lectures. Certificates were distributed to the faculty members who have successfully completed various NPTEL courses with ELITE and GOLD including the TOPPERS - Mr. J. Srikanth, Dr.K. Nagajyothi, Dr. B. Sandhya Rani and Mr. Tirupathi

One Day Awareness Workshop for faculty on "Online Courses" was jointly organized by IQAC of Sri Akilandeswari Women's College, Wandiwash and NPTEL - IIT Madras , Spoken Tutorial IIT Bombay. Ln. B. Munirathinam, Founder & Chairman presided the workshop. Ln. M. Ramanan, Secretary, Member -Syndicate, Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore. Dr. S. Mythili, Principal inaugurated the Workshop. Mrs. Kamala Ramakrishnan, Project Officer - NPTEL, IIT Madras, Mrs. Divya Karthic, Project Officer - NPTEL, IIT Madras and Dr. R. Rajesh Kanna Spoken Tutorial Coordinator & Assistant Professor, Dr. N.G.P College of Arts & Science, Coimbatore were the resource persons and they highlighted the benefits and significance of implementing the online courses in NPTEL and spoken tutorial. The procedure was explained in detail for implementing the same. Nearly 104 faculties from 47 colleges participated and benefitted. Certificates and gifts for the toppers and coordinator were distributed by the dignitaries

It is pleasure to inform you that to enhance the learning process with the help of NPTEL online Local chapter course in different engineering streams and Humanities subject like MBA department ,we have appointed one internal NPTEL coordinator from each department to motivate the student for e- learning via NPTEL online courses. Our Principal sir Dr. Sudhir Kumar Rathi also delivered a motivational speech to students of various departments to enroll in this opportunity by MoE govt. of India. We are also plan to conduct an internal workshop as soon as possible for motivate the students and aim to enroll each and every student of this academic institute to enroll in this series of lectures.

1.Scholorship to students from college:
Every student who clears the NPTEL online Examination will be given scholarship to the extent of 50% of Examination fees.This is addition to the fee waiver scheme of NPTEL.
2.Reward Scheme:
a) Every student scoring more than 75% marks in NPTEL online Exam will be rewarded with certificate,medallian and cash prize.This will be done in a mega academic excellence award fuction yearly
b)The same reward scheme is applicable to teachers also.
c) Best department award : It is resolved that the department which registers,enrolls,trains and qualify highest number of students and teachers will be awarded with certificate, trophy and cash prize in a glittering function.
3.Performance Appraisal: The college administration has incorporated the NPTEL certification into staff appraisal system.Here,one who clears the NPTEL online exam will be given additional weightage. The system of appraisal is utilised for the purpose of promotion and increment.

AWARENESS ON ONLINE COURSE : NPTEL is organised on 19.07.2017. Ms. K. Ranjithadevi II PG Physics welcomed the gathering Mr. S. Selvakumar., SPOC - NPTEL; Head Department of Physics explained the significance of the online courses conducted by NPTEL in Association with Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Also he explained the procedure for enrolment, examination and certification. Next Mr. D. Prakash, Assistant professor of chemistry and chief faculty co-ordinator of spoken tutorial programme explained the importance of the online courses and employment opportunities. He insisted about the significance of computer knowledge to meet out the need of current scenario. Ms. Shakeela II PG Physics delivered the Vote of Thanks About 118 students and 12 faculties participated and benefitted

As it is first semester of our NPTEL Local Chapter, we felicitated all 28 students who had appeared for the certification exam and cleared 34 subjects. However, there are 4 students who were in top 5 % and one student who topped at national level. We had shown the video and also the toppers expressed their feedback and guided the aspiring students about how to plan and execute time-management for NPTEL courses. The utility and benefits as perceived by them were also explained. Myself, SPOC and our Principal also motivated the students.

We have organized an NPTEL AWARENESS PROGRAM for JULY 2017 courses in our campus by every department. This program is completely hosted by the students (Department NPTEL student coordinators). One live enrollment is made in the stage to make the students to know how to register for a NPTEL Courses. The student coordinators introduce the department courses and multi disciplinary courses in a week wise order (i.e 4,8,12 weeks) and one particular student identified and presented the courses related to their academic year of study. The certified students came forward to the stage to motivate and share their experiences with all. Our Principal sir Dr.Dola Sanjay S inaugurated and presented a motivational speech about NPTEL in the entire department awareness programs every day.

In our institute we have Samsung Displays at every floor in every building, totaling to 50 displays all over the campus. I have prepared PPT slides containing 'NPTEL recent toppers and Gold Medals' and 'forth coming courses list' in 9 slides to display.
Slides have been put up in display for the awareness of both faculty and students all over campus.
The hard copies of the course information have been put up in concerned Department notice boards.
Our Principal is very much interested to give the benefit of NPTEL courses to large number of students and faculty. With staff and students successful participation, we have got 'AA' rating in the recent results and we expect to get AAA rating in the coming run of courses. So, in this regard, I have been provided with a helping hand from each Department as a Dept coordinator to take care of the students and faculty registrations, allotting mentors for the courses, etc.

I am happy to inform you that we celebrated NPTEL Day on 30 June 2017 @ PACE.

Our college provides course fees alongwith TA and DA to faculties. Cash rewards are also being given to meritorious faculties and students.

In our college we have given 50% scholarship to all candidates appeared for examination in their exam fees. And we are doing this since last year to till date to encourage the participation in NPTEL.

In Our College, We are appreciating the students 1. If he/she secured Gold, they will be rewarded with the amount of Rs.500/- 2. If he/she secured Elite, and they should be in the Top 25% of the candidates in the institution. They will be rewarded with the amount of Rs.250/- (Note the Participant Count in the respective course should be minimum 20) We are refunding the amount to the faculties, If he/she successfully completed the course, the amount for the registration is refunded. The credits also be taken to the HR Appraisal which is carried out in our college, every year.

We give the awards/incentives (3000 INR)to all the Gold medal certificate holders and all india Toppers from our college.. And we made Nptel certification mandatory for annual Increments for faculty. From this semester onwards all the students and faculty have to do the certification course.

In my college also we were awarded with Rs. 500 cash prize for faculties and students who secured Topper in the course.

I am pleased to inform you that our college has taken yet another step towards helping students excel in Academics. We have instituted NPTEL Award For Excellence in order to motivate our students follow NPTEL Courses sincerely. It has been decided that henceforth, a student scoring 80-89% will be awarded Rs.500/- and those scoring 90% or more will be awarded Rs.1000/-, for each NPTEL course.
